Walk around and the Fitbit will counts your steps; sit still and it lets you know you’re a lazy bones; catch some zzzzz’s and it will monitor how well you have slept.
You can wear the Fitbit Tracker in your pocket, clipped to your shorts/jeans/skirt/bra etc. or even to your wrist when you are sleeping. Heck, you can wear it all day if you wish.
Walk within 15ft of the basestation and your data will be automatically uploaded to the Fitbit website.
The wireless upload and sleep tracking features are smart and if you’ve ever been part of a weight-loss program, the fitbit makes the tracking a whole lot easier, or so we’re told
It’s not always accurate. When sitting on the sofa wearing the fitbit, it thought we were out running but in fact, we were simply tapping our feet along to our Phil Collins In Concert DVD [Ed... you've said too much!] – Bev & Andrew, Hants, UK.
Many consumers were said to be excited for this when first hearing about it, and each to their own, but it looks like the hype hasn’t quite been matched by the actual product. That all said, the Fitbit is a clever device for the most part and will certainly provide some insight to your sleep and exercise patterns. Personally, we would rather spend the money on running shoes or investing in a nice feather pillow.
