A fan without blades? How is that possible we hear you exclaim with enthusiastic curiosity? This is Sir James Dyson’s latest invention, The Air Multiplier, which is a desktop fan without blades.
So what exactly is an “air multiplier”? Well, it’s a fan but it has no fan blades. Yes OK, we got that. But, you’ll still get the same amount of air flow as with a convential blade fan and the flow of air will be constant and smooth.
Apparently Dyson’s engineers spent almost four years building and perfecting Dyson’s Air Multiplier technology. Air is drawn into the base of the machine, forced up into the loop amplifier and accelerated through the 1.3mm aperture, which creates a jet of air.
Is Dyson challenging convention and generating a creative solution to a problem?
